I just blindly chose this Ridenour Encore off ebay when I noticed my new tenor didn't come with a mouthpiece. It seems to play easily enough, does anyone have any comment on whether it's suitable for a beginning coming over from clarinet? Any other recommendations, specifically for remedial correction of "clarinet mouth"? ;)

I would guess that a lot of us started on clarinet. I think I saw that you play bass clarinet. This will probably help you out, since a tenor embouchure is much looser than that used on a Bb soprano clarinet. I played clarinet and alto sax for over 50 years, but tenor for only the last 3. Even after 3 years, every time I pick up my tenor I have to remind myself to play with a softer embouchure. I even play my tenor with a slightly softer reed than I would like to play, in order to help make sure I never bite down, especially in the upper register.
