I haven't try them, thanks for the recommendation!Rigotti Jazz or their other brand Queen
I like to switch from time to timeStick with the reed you like. You can spend money trying others but most likely you'll come back to what you've been using. It may get to the point in the future that you will begin to dislike your reeds, and that is the time to try others.
Yes! I've been playing java greens for a long time but I was playing with hard reeds (about 5) and their sound become a little bit dry in some range... I've move to d'addario and this problem has dissapear at least in high numbers...Been a while since i switched from select jazz to java green and red and i don't look back. (For me) fuller sound and better projection. Made the switch for alto and tenor.
Either stick with what works for you, or else try as many as you can and make you own decision based on what you hear (with your ears). It won't be very helpful asking for recommendations - it's what you get on with that counts. Especially don't ask an endorser like me, because I will just say Lupifaro or Legere Signature. Oh wait, I might also say Rico Brown box but you can't get them any more.I've been playing with D'addario select jazz for some time and I feel great playing them but I would like to try other reeds.
Any recommendation?
This is so very true (and not just with regard to reeds)! All anyone can do is tell you what works for them, and it's no secret there are as many different opinions as their are choices. You gotta do the experimenting yourself to figure out what works for you.Either stick with what works for you, or else try as many as you can and make you own decision based on what you hear (with your ears). Do you still like the Gonzales? I used to love them, the non-627 variety. But a while back the company was sold, after which they got rid of the quarter strengths and the packaging changed. After that it seemed the quality of the reeds went downhill.I agree with Pete, JL...
But if you start trying, check out the Gonzales jazz reeds, every single one is working for me.
