Hi everyone.
I noticed a guy is selling a translucent plastic reed on ebay!!!
The make is "cristalophone" and it was apparently made in Paris.
Would anyone have any information about these????

Are they any good.... and when they were manufactured?

There are several different kinds of clear plastic reeds such as BARI, Legere, and a few others.

Try the BARI plastic reeds --- I play on them and they are great .

There are also other synthetic reeds on the market. Do a search here and find out more. Rico makes cane reeds that are plastic coated as well.

My Professor had many of the different obscure plastic reeds when I was in studying him. The reed in question along with most of those early synthetic reeds, were not so great at all. Legerees, Fibracells etc are 20x better than it
