Most of my students now have horns w/ high F# keys. Guess it's time to finally learn a set of altissimo fingerings for these horns.

What's a good chart for altissimo fingerings for horns w/ a high F# key?

TIA

I used to play a Mark VII with a high F# and the only time I used it in altissimo was for F# (obviously !) and for G.
There really no reason to relearn a new set of fingerings because of the F# key.

Agreed--it's handy for the "crunch" G: T/1xx4xx Ta C5 (where Ta=side Bb and C5-high F# key). It's also handy for altissimo D#, as there are several fingerings that are based off of the major 6th overtone of high F#. Eugene Rousseau's High Tones for Saxophone has an excellent chart that incorporates this key.

Ditto on Rousseau's High Tones. That's the book that I learned altissimo from. However, I learned on a YAS 23, which had no high F# key, and so when I upgraded to my current SX-90R set up, I still use the same fingerings, without the high F# key.

The value of the high F# key is that it makes chromatic runs up to and down from high F# much easier. It can also be used as a vent key for some of the higher altissimo fingerings.
