I have tried to find out where the Allora saxes were being mfg. and have been told and read different opinions.
I now know. WWBW was right. Someone there told me Vietnam and that was correct , at least for the Intermediate Curved soprano model.
I ordered one from a on line retailer that was on sale (not WWBW). It was well under $600. shipped.
I am not thrilled that it was mfg. in Vietnam....But it is solid and there was not a flaw anywhere to be found. Well packed and played right out of the case. Even the cheap plastic mpc. sounded decent.
For my intended use, this sax should be OK for me. Anyway, I have 45 days to decide to keep it or send it back.
