So I just picked up this cheap old soprano. The brand is Aiglon, anyone have any idea who could have made it? There is another thread about a Aiglon alto, but it doesn't seem like there was any conclusion about who made it. Its in decent condition, but I can't really say how it plays because the octave key doesn't close, I'm going to get that fixed as soon as possible. Any help identifying this would be appreciated!
Here's the other thread and some pictures:

By the way, getting good pictures of saxophones is really hard!

Cool find. Hard to say, but I would concur with the other thread that it is along the lines of a French-made horn. The octave keytouch is very Malerne, and Buffet contracted with Malerne. Interesting inclusion of a front F, which doesn't show up on a lot of vintage Sopranos !

I will bet my wallet that the G# pinky touch is unoriginal, something slapped on there by a repairman at one time or another.

I bet it will sound very sweet when it is worked up. French sopranos usually do....enjoy.

I like the concave pearl touches, and the engraving definately looks hand cut. Nice horn if you get it fixed up. I just mentioned the cosmetics, but it looks like a nice vintage soprano!

Ok so maybe Malerne? Haven't found any pictures of a Malerne straight soprano, maybe someone has one? Yeah, the G# looks kind if weird, why would you add that? Have been crazy busy the last couple of days, but as soon as I have time I will take to a tech and get it fixed up.

Maybe have the tech re-grind the G# touch onto a nicer, less primitive shape. Malerne sopranos do not show up very often, maybe once a year on eFlay...
