This is my 3rd attempt at one of these virtual performances. The pros make it look easy but I found it extremely difficult to send a solo in the mail and hope it works out. I bought the bass clarinet on Ebay for $166 - of course the mouthpiece was almost $300. This is also the soprano that I severely bent in December. I'm really happy particularly with the second chorus of the soprano solo but alas there was not video of that take. Positive comments always welcomed!

Good work, really nice. May I ask, however....is Syracuse still in a situation where stay-home, quarantining, etc. is a necessity ?

Most friends I know in bands across the country have actually at this point been playing/practicing back together (with certain add'l precautions) for several weeks now.

Good band.

The deal I have with my group is that I need to get my daughter off to college before we start live rehearsals again. Our practice space is small and social distancing not possible. In terms of gigs, it was tough before Covid and our governor just changed the rules again prohibiting cover charges as well as advertised music. That was the nail in the coffin for most live music. Once We reach mid September, the group will seriously record material not the mailed-in parts. At our level, we need more face time to really line up everything.

I really liked that. What were you doing to get the octave effect on the bass clarinet? Was it an over-dub or an effect? I really like your sub-tone sound vibrato on soprano. It reminds me a bit of Grover Washington's sound. So many people try to push the soprano too hard and end up with a really strident sound. You are killing'!

I doubled it on bass clarinet an octave lower. We were only going to take one but the sounded combined was interesting.

I liked it. It must be tough putting all the different videos together and getting them synched and sound balanced. I've never tried it but it seems like it would be tough.
