I was wondering if anyone had experience with the Aristocrat from 1960 (Aristocrat III ?) I kind of want to know what to expect tone wise, and particular suggestions of mouthpieces that work well for a particular type of sound.

I know this is a crapshoot, but I don't like super bright or too dark of a tone. More of a smooth in between. As embarrassing as it is, I am going to set my example as George Michael's Careless Whisper just because the tone is there.

I've seen that the CE Winds Silver Shocka sounds good on a 1938 Aristocrat. Heard it on Youtube. I've got to get mine up to par, but here's to another Busherer.

i use a philtone meyer on my '62 aristocrat. i also occassionally use a brilhart or hite, depending on what i misplaced that day. the meyer is a good in between, and i think it sounds best of what i have.

i like the tone on the '62 a lot, it's more focused than a number of saxes i tried. how you play it has a lot to do with the tone.
