Hi, I just want to share a good method that I use to go over a good number of standards in a practice session.
I have called it the "one chorus" method and showed it in the video.
It works great for me, hope it can work also for you.

Thank you ShedShark, I also don't like harsh sounding baritone sound that you often hear.
I lean towards a more dark and cavernous tone.
Soundwise the best tones I've ever heard on bari are Gerry Mulligan and Serge Chaloff.
But I admit that I the musicians that I've listened and studied more are tenor players: Dexter Gordon and Zoot Sims maybe

You know, Fabrizio....I was listening to your clips yesterday over at the CafeSaxophone.....and it struck me that you playing style on the BigHorn is VERY Tenor-like. So, whether you intended to or not, IMHO you do approach the baritone in a Tenor-like way. Not an easy thing to pull off as it requires a great deal of proficiency.

Anyway, I always enjoy your playing....sound, phrasing, all of it.

That's a very good approach - I often, especially when learning a tune, alternate 1 chorus melody, 1 chorus improv, 1 chorus melody, 1 chorus improv... and so on. But you are correct, this is a great way to keep your repetoire fresh!

And regarding your playing: I think of Tony Bennett saying "Beautiful!", in his own inimitable way

@JayeLYD Thank you, I don't know if my player is tenor like or not.
Soundwise I like a dark cavernous tone, I don't want to sound like a low tenor.
But regarding the phrasing you could be right, I've listened and studied tenor players a lot, especially in the past.
I've been listening especially to trupet players for three months, Fats Navarro, Lee Morgan and Art Farmer! I listen to different music too, classical and other genres, but I consider myself a bebop blue note man.
