On my 875 EX alto, if I tune my F# perfectly, my D and E are literally 35 cents sharp.

I regularly take my horn in to the shop and JUST had my horn regulated last week but I've always had this problem.

Could it be that the horn is just bad?

Or is it me?

Not all horns are perfect. I have the same problem with my YAS-62II. I believe D and E are tricky notes an most saxophones.

These notes can be played very sharp easily on any alto. Open your throat by dropping the back of your tongue and play them flatter. If all else fails, close the low B(left hand pinky} on these notes. No horn is more in tune than these custom Yamahas.
