I've recently purchased a Strathon for tenor sax. I was surprised when it was shipped in (what appears) the original box. This one has "West" spelled out and the patent pending numbers.

Also, the cap is very solid and without the hole at the end.

Can anyone tell me what the vintage is of the particular mouthpiece?

This is one of the earlier ones.
One way to tell is by the way the baffle is shaped.
The later ones didn’t have that short angled section at the front of baffle.
I have both varieties for Baritone and they are both excellent pieces.
Both the earlier and later ones are Hard Rubber.

I appreciate the info, but I am trying to find out if the mouthpiece can be categorized as a 60's or 70's vintage.
