3 Weeks 'Till Audition Time

I've now got 3 weeks until my first audition (CCM).

I'm preparing Tableaux de Provence: Mvt 1. Farandoulo de Chatouno for Alto and First Concertino for Tenor.

Could you guys give me some general suggestions regarding auditioning with these two pieces? I'm currently trying to track down some more recordings of the First Concertino on Tenor.

Thanks,
Bubba

This is a good clip for listening to dynamics and phrasing in first concertino, but ignore the jazz inflections. I know the guy is playing alto, but this video helped me get a 1 at state solo and ensemble in texas as a freshman. The different tempo changes and stressing he does throughout the piece are also pretty good.

I like a lot of things about his playing. The "additions" were a little much. Good find!

I wonder if I posted a clip, if more people would chime in..

Thanks,
Bubba
Could I get some thoughts on the first page of Tableux?

Cool I also have auditions coming up. I liked your sound, nice and mellow. Two things that jumped out at me was that you the tempo seemed to be unsteady in some places like after a difficult technical bar or after you took a breath in certain spots. Fixing up the technique is the easier part (just slowing it down a bit and working it better into your fingers), but getting quick breaths without timeskips is hard. I also think you can add more dynamic contrast.
Thanks for the note. I definitely agree with the tempo, (I've been actually re-recording and working on that when I noticed it on the higher passage).

In regards to Dynamic. This is the first time I've recorded myself (New fancy phone); So I was actually ignoring dynamics for the sake of the recording. I notice I can hear my keys clicking when I get down to the pianoish area.

Thanks,
Bubba
Just thought I'd update... Got a 1 at contest yesterday on the Tableaux.
