There's a lot you can do with the first etude. I also like to do "alternate rhythms" as they help you read faster. If you're not already doing so with your teacher, be sure to do rhythms based on 2's, 3's, and 6's, not just 2's. You could even do 4's on this piece since there are generally 12 notes per measure.
