I don't know about the Big B, but I have an 61' Aristocrat which was made just before the Conn-Selmer buyout. It has a nice warm mellow tone but doesn't project very well. Also, the palm key ergos are a little off for my liking. Truthfully, if I thought I could recoup my investment I would sell it.

I have a series 1 aristocrat alto, and had a big b tenor for a while but ended up selling it, but only because it didn’t get much use. I think they are great horns, love the rich tone.

These are great horns, but as I just posted in the other recent "Big B" thread, there are three different model Aristocrats with the Big B engraving. I think the 1946 model would be either the earlier one, similar to a series 1 Aristo, or the middle one (155), but am not sure. All three models (127, 155, 156) are really nice horns, though.
