I have an Eb Alto Sax - Silver - that belonged to my grandfather - pre-1930's. It is a Frank Holton Co. label on the front and the serial number is 108XX with an "LP" underneath. According to the Holton serial number listings I found online, it dates the horn at 1922. Any thoughts? Could it be silver or nickel plated?

Thanks for your help.

Probably Silver Plate. Real easy to tell though. Is it tarnishing? Turning black? Does it have a "white" sheen to it, or a "dark" hue about it?
