So I bought one of those 12m necks from China off eBay.
The neck tenon wasn’t as pictured.
It had a larger band around the top of it which means the octave key is way short and won’t line up with a 12m.
I contacted the seller and he is in the process of sorting a longer octave key for me, but due to current events this will take some time.
So I soldered an extension onto the octave key and adjusted the tenon to fit my later 12m.
Results are it works perfectly.
No difference in tone or playability and tunes a little better in that pieces are further on the cork.
Great news for those with a neckless 12m.

I purchased one which was being sold as a Bundy/Buescher replacement. It fit and worked well. Blowing response was fine, intonation was good.

It DID have a thicker-walled tenon than an original Bundy/SelmerUSA neck, however....the thickness was visually noticeable; and it blew slightly brighter (not necessarily sayin the tenon wall difference made it blow brighter, but as it was the most obvious difference in what other wise appeared to be a very similarly spec'd neck, it might have been.

Is the tenon wall on the replacement 12M neck of the same thickness, more or less, as an original ?

The tenon had a noticeably thicker wall, but with sanding to fit it has come down quite a bit.
Blowing response wasn't noticeably brighter or darker.
Tuning seems slightly better because of the size of the band at top of tenon, it slightly lengthens the neck I believe.
Here are some comparison pics with my early 12m. neck.

I’ve actually just received a second neck from a different seller, but it is identical to the first and was even packaged identically.
So obviously from the same maker.
I’ll be adjusting this one to fit my 1933 12m tranny’s receiver.
Obviously you could extend your horns octave actuating rod instead of the necks octave key.
But this may interfere with you using the original neck.
Octave key pad looked pretty crappy so I changed that out also.
