Heres what I think and I stated this on you tube. I think on the head you are trying to imitate the smooth jazz stuff you do in your funny vids and then when you start to play the solo your phrasing goes back to you and it sounds wonderful. That in a nutshell is the problem with smooth jazz, guys like Albright, Sanborn, and Grover all were actually phrasing their way, not copying someone else and it sounded great. Then you get a generation copying them and thats most of the stuff on the smooth jazz channel on Demand. But once you went into soloing I think you dropped the approach and reverted to the way you'd play a line and that sounded great K
