  1. Playing Songs
I'm in the process of transcribing one of my favorite solos, and I have everything down except for this fast run part. I try slowing down the recording but then it gets difficult to hear the different notes in the lower registers. I'm wondering how you guys go about this process? Thanks.
  2. High School and College
Just a brief description of my situation right now. I'm planning on auditioning for the jazz programs at 4 -5 colleges this winter, including Cal State Northridge, Cal Arts, UNLV, and Shenendoah University. I'm happy (as much as I can be) with my current setup based on my financial situation. I...

If anyone could point me in the direction of how to get some of the giants of classical saxophone without having to pay that would be great. I'm looking for recordings of guys like Fred Hemke, Don Sinta, Otis Murphy, Kenneth Tse, etc.

  9. Brand Name Players ...
When I was a teenager I spent hours listening to–and staring at–Joshua Redman’s album “Joshua Redman”. I dreamed of one day playing like him. Maybe even meeting him. I never imagined sitting at the Blue Note in NYC listening to him perform a song I wrote! Click here to listen. Joshua Redman...
  10. Misc. Saxophone Discussion
Hi Everyone Just interested to know if there exists (out there) bootlegs of Jackie McLean's earlier work? With music from his intense Blue Note period I'd be interested to know if there is any such material floating around. Surely there must be plenty, if there's Warne then there's Jackie!? I...

  13. Baritone mpc
I'm not a big believer that these are that useful but here goes. 1. Since bari is my main ax, and 2. since I see more mouthpieces than the average member here, and 3. since I have a new mic, and 4. since no one else is making bari sound clips available, and 5. since it might help me sell...
