  1. Flute & Piccolo
I may be required to play piccolo in 6 weeks or so. Can anyone recommend a decent budget piccolo (either used or new)? I have pretty decent flute chops, but I haven't had to play piccolo (except very briefly, decades ago), so I don't know what to look for or which student or budget models have...
  2. Flute & Piccolo
I just bought a piccolo (a YPC-62) and was looking at the Yamaha specs website and noticed there aren't any discernable differences between the models. What, if anything (if anyone knows) is the difference between these? (Edited title to say YPC-81, as the YPC-82 has a metal head.)

Hey everyone! I like to experiment building musical things and have done a bit of sax repair in the past. I like physics too, so I've come up with a little challenge. I recently bought a Yamaha YRF-21Y "fife" for $10 shipped. I've kinda been wanting a piccolo (I know, I'm insane), and this...

I have an Emerson piccolo that I'd like to sell, but have no idea it's value or model. From my limited research I think it's pre-1997. There's a (serial?) number at the end: C4545. It could be worth $100 or $400... I just have no idea. Any help would be well appreciated!

Hey everyone! Back with another video in my "Will it Play" series. In this episode I'm playing piccolo using a trumpet mouthpiece! There's also a very special guest in this one :) Let me know what you think, and enjoy!

Took our piccolo, a Yamaha YPC-61, to our normal tech said that it needed some pads replaced, headjoint tenon(?) spins, and the headjoint has a crack. We were told that it would be a while before it could be tended to, but next semester is starting soon & needed then. So, I am looking for a tech...

  8. Flute & Piccolo
I play flute in a concert band and recently borrowed Yamaha YPC 62 to learn a new instrument. After a month or so and wanting my own, I auditioned a handful of piccolos at a local store - New and used Yamaha YPC 62, Pearl 105 and 165 with and without wave heads and a used Emerson Boston Legacy...
  9. Flute & Piccolo
Good Afternoon all! I was wondering if anyone knows anything about either of the above mentioned brand's D Flat piccolos, years they were produced, the positives and negatives of both types (unless you're only familiar with one or the other), if they tend to have quite a bit of intonation...

I've been wanting to upgrade from my ypc-32 to a 62. I do like my 32 its just its a bother to tune:(:mad:!! I also like the 62 for it not as affected by the weather as metal picc. and its deeper/mellower intonation. Any Help?
  12. Flute & Piccolo
Hello, I have had this flute & piccolo sitting around for quite a while. I don't know much/if anything about them. I was given them used by a relative in or around 1999. The flute says "Artley Nogales, Ariz 4-0" with a number that says "435351" and it also says "SILVER." The piccolo says...

My 13-year-old daughter has been playing the flute for three years and begged me for a piccolo for her 14th birthday. I bought a used Yamaha YPC 30 for $249 at Sam Ash last night and have 30 days to return it for a full refund. Did I make a wise purchase? They also have a used Gemeinhardt...
