For many years, we continuously seeking for the best sound solution for acoustic instruments...
I’m using the TE tuner app when practicing (alto sax), and would like to try out using an external microphone.
I have a home studio - 2 x 2 m. - and think that the built in iPad microphone does not work well with the relatively small space.
Idea is to place an external microphone away from the...
The people at Fifine Technology sent me a microphone to review - a $30 usb condenser mic. I knew that it was good for podcasts and other talking purposes, but wanted to see how it would handle recording saxophone. Have a look and let me know what you think!
I´ve tried the ATM350U clip on mic and also the Audix ADX20 i-p.
The sound was great but I play a Keilwerth SX90R and the noise of the keys on the mic was kind of annoying.
I think this is because of the rolled tone holes.
Is there a clip on mic which isolates better and has a very good...
I'm looking for a pouch that can hold my Sennheiser transmitter to the bell of my saxophone, so that I don't need to attach the pack to my person when picking the sax up and putting it back on its stand.
Hey all! Looking to purchase a microphone for home use (saxophone recording) with a budget of around $300. I did some recording at my buddy's place with a Carvin CTM100 tube condenser and LOVED the way it came out on both alto and tenor. I'll link a couple of those recordings below so you can...
I know there is a newer post about best mics live but looking at a wireless system that is durable and affordable. Would like to stay under $500 but trying to get a realistic idea on the best bang for the buck. Thanks!

So I've browsed through a bunch of the microphone threads here, but haven't found any that quite addresses this question.
I'm working on improving my tone, and I find that one the most helpful things for this purpose is being able to hear myself from the outside by recording myself practicing...
I want a good multipurpose microphone, that is great for recording vocals, and commentary,
as wells as saxophone recording (tenor sax) I am currently looking at shure sm58 and sm57
because I wanted a dynamic microphone because it doesn't pickup background sound very well.
My price range is...
Does anyone in or near the Chicago, IL area own several different clip-on wireless saxophone microphone systems such as SD Systems 89, AMT (any saxophone model from AMT), Shure, Sennheiser, AKG, Samson, or any others?
I'm looking for a new wireless clip-on mic, and there is no practical...
I'm currently using a Samson Airline 77 wireless system with my tenor on GB gigs. The sound produced through the fronts is 'okay' (even with a lot of EQ work), however, the room noise picked up by the mic is almost unbearable. It is especially noticeable in my in-ear monitors. The...
