Saxophonist Leo P on the Oleg Bass Saxophone with percussionist, Sandro Feliciano.
Having never played a Bass Saxophone before, Leo P was quite pleased with the ease of playing and responsiveness of the Oleg Bass Saxophone.

Maybe somebody has posted this before - apologies if so.
(Can we start a sticky for links to historic performances of bass-sax interest?)
Also, the notes give the names of the six brothers - apparently Vern Brown was the main bass player...
Hello all. Here is my latest song/video I've been working on. The song is an original called "What Matters Most". It's a funky little instrumental number, featuring alto flute, bass clarinet, tenor sax, bari sax, bass sax, trumpet and trombone, along with a rhythm section. I hope you enjoy...

A rare footage of Jan Garbarek playing bass sax from 28:10 to 29:03. The whole film is excellent, first with Terje Rypdal trio and later with Jan Garbarek trio playing tenor, his Santoni Pare curved soprano and bass sax.
I am playing a #3 Legere or Vandoren (blue box) with a Jody Jazz Bass #8 mouthpiece on my 1927 Conn Bass. While the intonation, projection, and efficiency of the mouthpiece is fantastic, I can't seem to get rid of a buzz in the sound which I hate. I want to keep all the listed attributes but...
Seems a stupid question, doesn't it?
I play a bari sax with a Morgan 3C mouthpiece which is as large as a bass sax mouthpiece. The local music stores carry mouthpiece brushes suitable for alto and tenor mouthpieces, not a bass one.
Is there a larger option for a mouthpiece brush?
