So I have this Buescher Aristocrat Big B alto saxophone, serial number is 297232. It's lacquer is shiny, almost TOO shiny. And it's not that dark honey lacquer that most Buescher Aristocrat owners talk about. It's more of a Yamaha-yellow lacquer. Also: Engraving is not dull, but not very sharp...

I'm thinking about buying a 1940's 297xxx Big B model for $600, I want to know how the ergonomics are, and if the keywork is too "vintage." Also, what's your mouthpiece/reed recommendation for an alto Big B? Thanks, also feel free to describe your experiences with the horn! (Alto)

I'm planning to sell my sax, but, don't have much information about it, it's a Buescher Aristocrat, serialnumber starts with 689xxx. I already seached the forum and google but can't find anything about a Buescher with this serialnumber. Don't even know what year the sax was made. Greetz, Sneezie

How do you compare these 2 in terms of tone, Intonation, keys action...etc? Is there any tone similarities? Why are the TTs much cheaper than the Aristocrats?
