Can anybody give me some feedback on Yamaha YAS 52? I'm considering buying this as my step-up horn (from a YAS 23). Thanks!

A Yas-52 w/ a Ponzol neck makes a killer horn. I don't have the neck myself but tried it on my friend's Ponzol, which he's using for his Yas-62, and I couldn't tell the difference between the 52 and the 62. Bottom line is they're great horns with not so great necks. Are you considering used? I might have to sell mine since I'm switching to tenor and need the $ for college.

i own 15 altos but use a 52 for my most demanding preformances. thats how good they are. no probelem w/neck stock is fine for me. there is no better horn for the money. best thing is there is no or very little quality varience from horn to horn.you dont have to search for a "good one". you cant go wrong w/one of these.

lab rat, you may want to check out ebay if your looking to buy a new horn. I have seen several sellers moving YAS62s for $1500 or less. May be comparable to what you can buy a 52 here for.

i agree w/jerry .great buys on 62,s now on ebay. my 52 set up is dukoff d7 w/rovner dark lig and vandoreen v16 1.5 reed. it also works very well with lakey mpc. i usually use this horn where an extremly bright sound is needed.
