Can anyone explain these compared to traditional bent horns?

Straight alto by Keilwerth is really excellent, more free blowing than most altos and bigger sound than most, albeit less saxlike, especially down low and in the upper octave on the left hand, where it took on an almost double-reed character. In a practice room it was no harder to hear myslef playing than with a curved horn, but I can imagine having more difficulty in an ensemble.

If you're lucky enough to be someplace where you can try a stright JK, don't miss the chance.
