Default Does anyone own or know anyone that owns an Benedikt Eppelsheim horn?

I go to the site and drool over the contra bass clarinet every week or so

I play a brass conical tube with holes. Lately I prefer the cylindrical one made of wood. --Just say No to Marketing

Oh Man! Playing Mr. Eppelsheim instruments has been one of the most incredible experiences at the Frankfurt show so this gave me something to look forward to and put it among all the objects of beauty I would like to own that famous day when I become rich.
The most incredible thing is how light to the touch they are, a clear indication of a superior mechanical object.

I have three. An Eb Tubax, a Bb bass, and a Soprillo. I think Benedikt is a genius.

My old teacher has a tubax - well really its the county music scheme's tubax but he's the head of jazz so it lives with him.

The only thing is that his tubax isn't made of very sturdy brass and was apparently rusting after two years its just about impossible to swab out a tubax!

On the plus side, I tried it once and found it to be nice & quick to respond - not quite as much as my tenor but certainly very very nice - played Sir Duke loud and clear without any warm up, and probably scared the art dept upstairs!
