Default TUBAX

Not many have actually heard the new Eb Contrabass saxophone, the TUBAX. Here is a short (2 minute) and incomplete clip of the super-low sax playing the melody for a change.

Tune: Stardust
Tubax soloist: Saxtek
Band: Jerry Fischer Orchestra (South Florida)
Arrangement: Mike Lewis

As a bari player, I'd love to blow on one of these. I'll bet a practice session will rattle the windows - all down the block. Thanks for sharing.

You guys might be interested in checking out Jay Easton's site -- he now has clips of himself playing his new subcontrabass Tubax (in B-flat -- it is to the contrabass as a tenor is to an alto). There are photos too.

That is one serioulsy large sound- fantastic!

But I wonder if the novelty value would where off after lugging one around for a few weeks?

That said, i would love gto get my lips on one and find myself! Thanks for the clip.
