Default CE Winds Satin Omega Tenor....sweet

Hello all,
I just wanted to take a minute to talk about my CE Winds Satin finish Omega Tenor. Im a firm believer in word of mouth so I always like to tell about my good experiences. I have had this tenor for about 3 months and wanted to get some good play time before I give my thoughts. For the past year I have been bouncin around diferent tenors trying to find one I really like that won't kill my wallet. I believe I have found it. Brian at CE worked out a great deal for me trading in on a satin Omega Tenor. Apearance wise the horn just looks fantastic. I know some don't like the satin finish but I thinks it looks great, very elegant. It arrived to me ready to play right out the box with no adjustments. Plays great top to bottom and the action is nice. This tenor has a really sweet sound quality to it. It just has this real sweet jazz character to the sound. Thats the only way I can really describe it. It plays with just a little resistence which I like. When I took it to my small ensemble practice the band leader asked me about it. He came up an asked if I got a new horn. He said he really like the finish but he said it sounds sweet. I was kind of surprised he noticed a difference. I have changed tenors many times and no one ever noticed any difference. I have purchased several CE saxes and liked them all. This satin finish tenor is by far my favorite. I highly recommend giving them a try you can't beat the price they ask for such a great horn. Brian has always been super nice and very helpful with any questions I have. Thanks Brian for the great deal and thanks CE for the great horn.

Thanks Doc. This sounds like the impression I had when I first tried a Selmer BA. Despite the fact that it was me blowing it, it was just sweet and jazzy, no other way to say it.

What set up are you using?

R.

My current set-up and I need to emphasize current. I change it way too often. I'm alternating back and forth between an Otto Link NY 6* and a Greg Weir 6* Slant Sig copy. I also play on a Guardala Studio from time to time. I play Vandoren Java reeds on all my pieces. The Greg Weir piece I also highly recommend.

I have a bare CE Omega Vintage copper alto and a bare CE Omega curved soprano. Both are great playing horns. The alto came to me from CE ready to play. The soprano I bought 2d hand but it needed just few minor tweaks to get it perfect.

Haven't tried a tenor yet! :-)

Amen! Mine's a 7, and I love it. Have you tried it with an FL lig yet?
