Hello Dr.G
I sent the mouthpiece to my friend Dan Kamsky who will then contact you to get the address and send to you. He has more experience with it and will help me.
Thank you all for the opportunity and the help they are giving me.
Thanks
Ivan Meyer

I just sold my soprano, so feel free to take me off the soprano list.

I would still like to try the tenor pieces though.

Just so I understand correctly ...
Is there going to be a separate Alto and Tenor Passaround, or are they one in the same?

Brian,

I have recently been in touch with Ivan and we agree that we shall run the trials separately. When the mouthpieces are ready for distribution, I shall start three threads for the reviews - tenor, sop, and alto.

DrG

Mr Ivan will be ready to send you the mouthpieces by the next days. He is trying to reach you by PM to ask you the mailing address, but got no answer. Would you please send him an email with it? I have already sent his email in a private message to you - just look up in your PM inbox.

Best regards

Dan

I'm confused (so what's new). Looking through the thread, I see Ivan's pics of the seven different mouthpieces, but I don't see a description of what type of mouthpiece they are. Can someone clarify for me?

It'll gain velocity as soon as the mouthpieces arrive north of the equator.

Hello , Dr George:

I have sent the mouthpieces some days ago, and, according to the mailing service, the mouthpieces were supposed to be delivered by these days. Have you already received them? Would you please email me as soon as they will be delivered?

Thank you very much

Best regards

Ivan Meyer

FOR PASS AROUND !

Congratulations!

It is your time to play-test the Ivan Meyer';s mouthpieces.

Mr. Ivan Meyer is a Brazilian musician who plays and teaches sax, oboe, clarinet, cello, flute and recorder. He is also a woodwind and mouthpieces luthier. He has developed his mouthpieces along the last 5 years, and has crafted and sold almost a thousand pieces to Brazilian and international buyers. All mouthpieces are computer designed and hand made by himself, a professional sax player, who began playing sax over 30 years ago. Every customer is encouraged to fulfill an order form, telling Mr. Ivan important information about how skilled he is, and what are his sonority preferences. The form is carefully evaluated, and a unique design is defined to achieve the customer's requests. The mouthpiece blank is then carefully hand shaped to this design. A facing curve, the most important part of the mouthpiece for its perfect functionality, is then designed using a computer program, according to complex math rules used by the most famous mouthpiece designers and refacers along the world. The mouthpiece is hand worked again to achieve these dimensions very precisely. This precision is not usually achieved by the mass production processes of most sax mouthpiece makers. It can only be achieved by the hand made ones, in which measures are made many, many times while in work, until perfection.
After this shaping and facing work, each piece is individually play tested by Mr. Meyer. The mouthpiece must match the customer sonority specifications or will be discarded. Every mouthpiece must be easy to blow form the low register to the top tones. No projection differences are allowed along the registers. These and many other tests are performed before Mr. Meyer can say "This is a perfect mouthpiece".
The mouthpiece is hand engraved with a beautiful leaves motif as these you have received. A finishing is then applied to the piece, according to the customer requests.
Before shipping, the mouthpiece is tested again and thoroughly hygienized.
If you have any question about the mouthpieces you can send an email to Mr. Meyer (comercial@explicasax.com.br). He will answer as soon as possible. Ivan Meyer';s mouthpieces are available at e-bay, or you can buy sending him an e-mail.

To avoid health problems, we strongly suggest you to clean the mouthpieces as soon as you unpack them. Use a tooth brush and a soft dishes soap to scrub the mouthpieces internally and externally. Rinse with hot water. After drying, rub with ethanol and wait for 5 minutes before you use it. The Fibracell reed should also be rubbed with ethanol before using it. If you please, do the same before packing and shipping to the next tester.

Feel free to show the mouthpieces to as many friends as you want, and let them test the mouthpieces too. We strongly suggest to hygienize as described above before every new player uses them.

Please include this instruction sheet when sending to the next tester.

Thank you very much, and any input from you will be welcome.

Ivan Meyer
www.ivanmeyer.com

Testing Instructions

The Fibracell reed sent along with the mouthpieces is one of the recommended reeds. If you';d rather try with different reeds, please use the model you deserve, but in the recommended range. Reeds that were being used with other mouthpieces usually get conformed to the table and window shapes, raising the fibers on the window zone. These reeds, when placed on a different mouthpiece, with different geometry, usually don';t play at its best. So, we recommend using only new reeds for testing the mouthpieces.

As he already said somewhere. He is going to make posts in the Alto MPC section and Tenor MPC section, and Soprano MPC section where the passaround will begin .
