Searching for Info - Ambassador USA
Good Day
I have been searching the web for some information on a Saxophone my wife used when she was younger. I have googled for awhile (which is how i came across this site), and tried ebay.
The only information i have is that she says it is a Tenor Saxophone, and on the front is
Ambassador
USA
And it has a kinda of a star pattern around it (arrows starting from the lettering and shooting out)
I can post pictures if needed.
The serial number on the back 1465.
The only reference to Ambassador on the web i seem to able to find is that the manafucaturer was FE OLDS, but not 100% sure if this is correct.
A search for Ambassador turns up nothing.
Thanks in advance for the help
I can't post attachments, but here is a link to a site that i host, it has pics ...

Can you post a picture or two? That would be very helpful in identifying the maker and age of this horn.

See Olds Central for information on the company.
http://rouses.net/trumpet/olds.htm
Bottom left side of website has company history. On right side are catalogs through the years. The 1957 catalog does include Ambassador sax drawings.
Your link doesn't work, by the way.
Hope this little bit of information helps.

Re: Searching for Info - Ambassador USA
I have not found any new information on this tenor sax, but I've found one that's for sale and I'm curious to find out anything I can about it. Any news? Despite the engraving saying "USA" it looks European to me... my guess is Italian. I've been scouring the internet looking for photos that match up (especially the bell to body brace, the alternate F# key, neck, etc.). So far I've found nothing that matches all of those things.
Do you have one of these horns? If so, how does it play? Thanks for any info you can help with.

Re: Searching for Info - Ambassador USA
Burden & Eric - some more direct good and/or functioning links would be helpful - 'Ambassador' is a name which comes up a few times - sometimes Olds - sometimes vintage Europeans Without photos of the particular horn in question it's impossible for us to give any feedback (BTW below the 'message' window when you reply - just look for the 'attachments' button - you can upload pics directly to this thread)
