I am looking too buy a new saxophone and can get a 62, but hear the 62IIs are a lot better. Is it worth it to buy the 62, or should I spend a little more to get the mark 2 . What are the major differences, and is the mark 1 still a great horn
thanks

The 62 is still the horn it was before the 62II came out. It doesn't know it's been replaced. :-)
I played on a 62 for about a decade, and loved it. I can't remember why I sold it. I have a 62II coming on trial, alongside an 875B Custom I just received.
I'll let you know what I think.

Hey Morry, I'm interested in your opnion of the 62II esp when you can do an A/B test with the 875B. BTW, are these altos or tenors?

They are tenors. My alto is still a 61 purchased new by my folks in 1976.
