Just got my new Borgani silver sop - amazing horn, why dont we start a Borgani compared to anything else sax discussion :D ?
See "Misc. Modern Saxes."
So, did you get a silver pearl Jubilee? I'm jonesin' for one of those myself. Just as a point of reference - since there has been such a wide variation in Borgani's - what serial numbers are they using now? Does your sop have a "J" or some other letters after the serial number? My Borg' Jubilee tenor is 4xxJ but there is currently a Borg' sop at eBay with a "V" after the number.
What other sops have you played and how does it compare? Did you get the curved or straight sop?

Hi Dr G
Its a curved model serial nr 157 with a J behind, Iīve played yamaha 62 R, selmer II and III, rampone/cazzani saxello - but the Borgani beats them all in every sense (my opinion). Iīm living in Denmark and you cant get them here, so I went to Oxford (saxophoneheaven) and tried three different kinds of Borgani saxophones: a curved gold pearlished, a straight 24 karat gold and the pearlished silver which I now own. I paid 3000 $ for it, maybe a bit expensive but...

Thanks for the reply. I see that your topic got moved - great!
Hmmm, that's exactly the sop that I've been craving. $3k is a wonderful price. I was quoted a "deal" last night for something approaching $5000! That just won't happen.
You've certainly had the opportunity to play and compare some excellent sops. I may have to dedicate a vacation some year to doing the same.
Welcome to the forum. I look forward to hearing more about your baby Borg' in months to come.
:borg:
Hmmm, I just checked www.saxophoneheaven.com ... Their price of 2150 British pounds converts to almost $4100 (U.S.) according to www.xe.com . Bummer  Looks like I'll be waiting a while before enjoying a baby Borg' of my own.
Let me know if you lose your mind and want to sell that horn.
Hey, want to trade it for a bigger, silver pearlized vintage horn? I have a Holton C-melody that's much larger and shiny too!

Well thanks Dr G for the offer, but I think Iīll keep the Borgani ...
Concerning the price 3000 $ - I bargain with Roger at Saxophoneheaven, and furthermore the Dollar is pretty low right now so you might wait a while before buying your Borgani sop.....but do it you wont regret it.
Itīs very easy to play and the sound is very dry and you can hear all the overtones (well a lot of them), itīs in tune in all register and dynamics are just very easy from pp - ff. :D

I bet it's a great sax flora3. I've been keeping my eyes open for a while for a new soprano, and Borgani Jubilee is on my short list. But, I'm in Canada and right now our dollar is stronger, compared to the US dollar, than it has been in 15 years. However, compared to the Pound or Euro we've depreciated almost as much as the United States.
The only place on this side of the Atlantic I know of that carries those jewels is Robertos Woodwind, and his prices are less than desirable. If Borgani ever drops down to that $3,000 range here in North American I'll be second in line behind Dr. G to get one
One thing I do find odd about Borgani is every used one I've found online tends to be the vintage finish (I lean more towards the 24k gold, or pearl-silver from the few I have sampled.)

Not odd at all if the gold and pearl silver are the ones that actually sound best. 8)
