Hello. Is there an alternate fingering or technique for C# on the Soprano? What an ugly note! Thank you.

Try fingering the (low C#) but with the octave key. I know it's more trouble but sometimes it is the preferred fingering for some passages. Mike

Thanks Mike, I'll try that. With the standard fingering (open horn) it just doesn't feel like there's enough resistance to get a nice tone.

LH3 with or without octave key should give you the resistance you need.

just add the side C key to the open C# fingering.

That, plus lot's of support. Do long tones on open C#. Try to increase your air speed through the horn.

I appreciate that Rollen. Looks like I have several methods here to work with. Thanks everyone for your assistance.

on my YSS 675 the middle c# sounds best with LH3, RH1, RH2, RH3 and a closed C-key, you also have more resistance blowing the c# this way..
