I'm doing a new post on this subject in the hope that it will more likely be seen. A few months ago I posted about a problem with instability of the high G sharp, which always tries to slip down to the lower register G sharp on my silver plated Dolnet no. 45xxxC. I had some advice from laurie, which I followed, but it didn't solve the problem, and I would like laurie to give some more advice. Laurie, I've tried to trace you with the information you've given in the previous topic, but according to Yellow Pages and Royal Mail, you don't exist! Are you still out there?
Howarths suggested they could try boring out the octave pip, but you have warned me not to.
Does anybody else have ideas about this problem? Could it be due to the neck, which has been bent and straightened out again at some stage? Howarths did some supplementary work on the neck, and it looks O.K. to me, possibly the tiniest bit out of round at one point.
