4/4 with a drummer

can someone explain me this? say in a blues in C..... i take the first 4 bars... and then the drummer takes the next 4...do i take the next for bars....or the chords of where the drummer left off

C C C C F F C C G F C C

id take the first 4...the 4 C bars. then the drummer plays 4...do i come in on the FFCC or the GFCC

You'd come in on the G chord. The music keeps moving along when "trading" measures (4's, 8's or whatever). This is true trading with drummers or any other instrument.
