Hello,
I've seen a thread about this but it was old, so I wanted to ask the guys who own a bass sax what there opinion is of the best case available. I'm thinking about a Calzone case with wheels, or a soft case but am worried about the horn getting damaged. What is your experience about the best case. I'd love to get a Walt Johnson, but they say they don't make them anymore. Thanks everyone,
Brian

I didn't know Calzone (http://www.pjlamusic.com/calzone.htm) made bass sax cases. The only guys I see using soft cases for bass saxes are repair techs and owners of the Eppelsheim bass sax (http://www.eppelsheim.com/bassax.php?lang=en).

I've heard good things abour these guys too: http://www.hornguys.com/woodwinds.htm.

I purchased a new Mason case for my vintage bass sax, but it doesn't afford the instrument too much protection. For example I wouldn't ship it in this case. But it fare's pretty well around town. You can see that case here (http://gandalfe.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!51AA828BCB20646!1818.entry). You can ping him about availability and price on the Bass Sax Coop (http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bass_Sax_Coop/) on Yahoo.
