See 2/14/03 under:

How can I look up a Yamaha serial number?

Why do you want to know?

Where is Half and Count the Rings?

Whoever wrote that was joking. One can get an indication of the age of a tree by cutting through the trunk and counting the number of rings across the radius. Each ring represents an anual growing cycle.

I picked up my copy of Half and Count the Rings from my Yamaha dealer!

(the quote from the Yamaha Serial Number thread was "Saw it in half and count the rings." Which leads to the question, "Where is Half and Count the Rings." and the above response....)

(get it yet?)

In context of course. But out of the blue, it's kinda disjointed. Thank for edumacating me.

You really don't need to cut a tree all the way through as long as you can get to the center and count the rings. So that would be cutting halfway. This is my deduction.

Why am I talking about this? :? Mike
