Ever since I started sax (and before that on the clarinet) I noticed my embrochure got a little sore after practicing. Now, after five years the way I practiced today made my jaw sore. The question is, which soreness is the better to have? Or are they both results of bad embrochure technique?

You shouldn't be sore, especially in your jaw. There will be a bit of a stiffness from using the muscles, you should feel it mostly in your corners of your mouth and a bit in your lips. It's muscle fatigue, it's normaly, but it should not be bad pain from biting.

Some people have legit oral problems that cause pain when practicing. Yet, I've found with young players, on sax, they use too much tension and over tighten. You shouldn't have fo fight hard to keep it together, you should focus on getting rid of all excess tension so that playing isn't a struggle.
