Okay, I just got a new YTS-82Z Custom Z tenor (it plays like a large, soft stick of butter, it just molds to whatever you want it to be, it's great), but... the altissimo fingering that I use for G above high F doesn't seem to work on tenor. I use OK:1-3::4-6, side Bb, RH Eb. Instead of coming out as a G like it does on Alto, it comes out as an F or F#, very strange. I can play up to an E above high F so it's not a problem with chops or anything. If anyone has a fingering that'll work on Tenor I'd be quite happy to hear it. Thanks.

Try this: Octave key + front alt F key + side Bb key. You still have to voice it carefully, but that fingering seems to work for me on any tenor.

If that G is sharp, get rid of the side Bb and just play the G with the octave key + front F. It just depends on the horn.........

Yea that works for me too, especially on Yamahas. On Selmers I have to add RH1 also.

LH1 and high F# key works for me on tenor. Trouble is, my usual tenor lacks a high F#, but you are in luck!

I use 1 in the left hand and the high f# key in the right hand. Works for me on both alto and tenor. If that doesn't work then you can experiment adding the Front F or the side Bb.

IF the front F key opens the palm key F pad too much, the G is very difficult with the old Front F key plus side Bb fingering. Set that pad to open about 1/8" (3.5 mm) with the front F key, and normal opening when the F palm key is pressed directly.
The problem is the F tone hole is not located properly to vent a high G well.
Here is a better fingering, one that works very well on modern tenors with high F# keys:
Octave key, LH 1 key (the B key), side Bb, high F# key.
This fingering opens all of the same pads EXCEPT it opens the high F# pad instead of the F pad. This is a MUCH better high G!!!
Another high G that works well, Octave key, LH1, LH2, LH3, low C# key, RH3.
This is a very good G also, and by adding side C, you can get a very good G#.
And from this G and G# it is easy to go to this A: Octave key, LH2, LH3, and leave the low C# key down because it opens the G# pad. You can also use the G# key in place of the low C# key for this A fingering.
