None of the current companies inspire me very much.
Thus, my favorite saxophone company is Buescher before it went into a tail spin and was bought out by Selmer in 1963. Buescher in the 20's and 30's -- THAT was a saxophone company! It was about craftmanship.
PS. Conn wasn't too shabby either.

No question about it. YAMAHA!!! Forget every other brand--except maybe Keilwerth.
Borgani (tenor) and Selmer (sop/tenor) - no particular order.

the folks at yamaha and leblanc(yanigisawa). they have always gone the extra mile to answer any questions and have always been courteous, kind, friendly, available, and professional. a number of years ago i had a concern with my yamaha alto and i called the usa factory in grand rapids, michigan, and one of the big guys got on the phone and helped me out personally and was very nice.
I like,
1. Selmer
2. Yamaha
3. Vintage Conn

I like the two Selmer MK VI's that I use now, but I have tried the Yamaha and would say It's the best of the new breed.

yamaha, my yts875B is still the best tenor i've ever come into contact with. everything plays stupid easily, it's ridiculously comfortable, and it just about lets me get away with murder.

Selmer! I like old Bueschers too. I bet the old Kohlerts are good also. I have a Kohlert bass clarinet only goes to low E. I bought it off e-bay for $430. I has been a great instrument especially for what I got it for. I've never played a Keilworth or a Guardala. I've played Buffets in high school, and was impressed with them.

I don't own one, yet. But I have tried them and would say that Yamaha will be my next sax. Unless the new Selmer Ref. 54 is better.

The pre-WW2 era at Conn...a unique meeting of old world craftsmanship, machine age engineering, classic modern design, and creative sales promotion.
