Well I know a lot of players have had their time with them. I love the sound and the look sone alto plaershave had on them and i realy wanna try them myself. On the chart it says a Vandoren 3 is like a legere 2.5 and i play a vandoren 3 but I usually can't get lot lower pitches like C down with the ease i canwith something like an alexander 3. If legere quality is good should it be easyto play lower notes with 2.5 or just go with the 2.25 to be safe and risk the reed closing up on the higher pitches. Anyone with knowledge please talk to me.

Just pick one and try it. Legere will let you exchange it with them for another strength. You just need to pay postage to Canada.
However, I have noticed strength variations from different lots or years. I have a 2.75 that is stiffer than two 3's I have. Could be a fluke.
I play them on Clarinet.

Well I alredy know about the echange program to legere in canada but i like ot get things right the first time. I don'twanna have to change sizes lik 3 tims because i can't seem to get the right strength. I am also talking about alto saxophone but thanks for a attempt.

I have been using Legere reeds on baritone and tenor. I am using reed strengths that are 1/4 size softer than what I use in cane. For instance on tenor I use a DC Alexander in cane and a 3 1/4 in a Legere reed.

I meant to say that I use a 3 1/2 in a DC Alexander cane reed and a 3 1/4 in a Legere on tenor sax. Legere reeds come in 1/4 size increments.

I've been using Legere #3 on alto for a couple of months, now. I've been having some very good results: they've helped get rid of that spitty sound, for instance. Anyway, I usually play a Vandoren 3, and the Legere 3 has worked out well.

I usually play on a vandoren 3 and the legere 3 seems a bit soft for me, I'm thinking of going up to a 3 1/2 to see if I get better tone quality.
