Selmer 1xx / 2xx Alto Horns

Dear Forum,

I am considering upgrading my Selmer Bundy II student horn. I've tried several horns recently (over $3K) that I cannot afford, but LOVE the sound. I seem to be coming back to Selmer every time for that reason.

Any news or views about the Selmer 1xx / 2xx altos??? Christmas may be a good time to pick up a bargain.

P.S. I have been playing the SB II for about a year. It plays good enough to keep as a second piece. Also, can't get enough for it on trade. It must have been a marching horn, and you know what that means.

For the price of the Selmer USA horns you could probably pick up a new Yamaha 62 which is a much better horn. You should also take a look at a Yanagisawa A901 or A902 as they are also much better horns for a similar price than the Selmer USA products.
