Hi, I'm in 9th grade right now and I play in my high school's band (2nd chair ^^), and with *Christmas* coming around I might have the chance to get a good sax. My low notes on my current sax are not coming out as good as they once were, and my high notes scream. And of course, right after Christmas are the challenges, where I plan on taking over the 1st chair. I was wondering if a Selmer AS110 would be a good enough upgrade from an AS300 to make it worth the money...
Any thoughts?

I haven't been very impressed by the AS110. For the money I would say take a look at the Yamaha 62II or for a little more you can get the Yamaha 82z. Both are much better horns than the AS110. You should also try and play the Yanagisawa A-901 and A-902. They are both in the same price range.
The best thing you can do is to play as many pro horns as possible and bring along your sax teacher to listen to you play. You may even want to have them help you pick it out by doing a fair bit of playing on it as well.
