Looks like a cross between a Mauriat & a Cannonball to me....

I'd almost bet that horn was not made in Italy. No one can compete economically with $3/hr labor.
I'd bet that too. I've thrown it out to a wider audience in the more open forum (MISC area) to see if these are actually made by Albest.

From what I understand, they are made in Korea. They look just like some Chinese horns I've seen though.
Where ever they are made, it isn't Italy, and these aren't even close to the same design. That looks like the Buffet 400 keywork.
If players of Jesse's calibre are playing horns like this, it follows suit that others will too which in turn forces companies such as I.M Grassi out of business. It's totally understandable but very sad.
My Prestige is an 'amazing' horn. I guess that doesn't count for anything if you can get a 'good' horn at half the price. Then again, I've not played one of these new horns so I can't really judge, although I suspect that in the future, folk will get bored with all these horns being exactly the same and there will be another shift.

There are no more companies like Grassi. Just people who import horns from Taiwan/China, and the big 4. That's it. (There are some small shops like Interbinden and Jim Schmidt, but those are hardly the same thing.)

There is also Borgani.
And Amati, who stencils and subcontracts for more companies than you'd dream of.

Please let us not forget Rampone & Cazzani. My other Italian mistress is an R1 tenor....glorious bit of kit.
