Does the black laquer of A991B go away eventually?

It is clear that the laquer on gold saxes fade away over time. Is it the same case for the A991B black model? I don't want a half black and half gold instrument.

Lacquer is lacquer. It will fade and get scratched over time, but you can try and delay that by keeping lacquer polish on it and being careful with it. Scratches are more noticeable on black lacquer.
