I've a LeBlanc system tenor from the fifties in very good condition. Second one I've owned (the first was rescued decades ago in really really miserable condition. As a result of my efforts it was restored to a good solid just sort of miserable condition. I sold it- described as in mediocre condition- when the one I currently have became available a few years ago). Distinctive horns reeking of colorful foibles, handcrafted construction, and Citroenesque design. They weigh roughly three times as much as a tuba and have neck sockets large enough to allow the entire tenon and ferrule on a standard Selmer neck to disappear right into the body of the horn. No VI/SDA clone here.
I just repadded the horn (screw in resos so no adhesive- actually works quite well if patience is used) , cleaned the horn, corked the horn, photographed the horn, listed the horn on EBay. Recorked the neck on the horn to ensure it was in perfect condition. Played the horn for six hours to make double sure it was just so. Cancelled the listing. Paid EBay the listing fees for the cancelled auction. Restored horn to its place in the saxophone ranch.
Damnation.
