You have good eyes! I'm stumped. The key cups look like an old King alto, but you're right - the bell is similar to a L&H Perfect Curved soprano. Maybe somebody soldered a 19th century alto bell onto an old King, or maybe it's a bell from one of those "Home Model" saxes that only had keys to low C. It's definitely not Kirk's usual Buescher Straight alto.
I'll have to look again when I have more time.

I've read in another thread that Kirk had several types of bells on his saxophones

His regular stritch looks different too. More like a normal saxello. usually has a larger bell right?

I don't recognise it, but I think we can all agree he's justified an extreme case of GAS!

Thanks for posting this.
Does anyone know why he has that thing (02:27) taped to his flute head joint?
Check out the circular breathing on flute !!!

The thing taped to his flute maybe a self made Echo box, a harmonica, or a music box he has to accompany him.
He used to have a French Horn bell on his Stritch but im pretty sure he had more than one stritch and manzello or just many bells becasue ive seen pics and vids where one year it is a normal bell then later it is huge bells and then even later normal bells again.
the bell on his Stritch looks sooo big on this vid. http://youtube.com/watch?v=CWiDgd2HPvw he is also NOT playin a super 20 tenor

What were those things called? Home models? They would be only keyed to like low C or B and up to like E or Eb. Yea looks like a H.N. White or stencil.

Yes - Home model. Low C(1) to high C#(3) with limited side/palm keys. In fact mine doesn't even have a low C#(1)... Ooops !
