Can anyone tell me the price of a alto S3 Prestige and its availability.
By the way, how do u think of this model. I only played a Yamaha875 alto, which is proberbly the best alto I played....how do you compare them?
Thanks a lot!

If you're talking about a new one, I know of no US dealer. One excellent way to get hold of one is to contact Stephan Boesken; he has access to the factory.
Dealer prices vary, but should be roughly comparable to an SX90R.

Oh, forgot the most important part--I LOVE this horn. It's the best classical instrument, hands down. Wonderfully even scale, sweet tone, very reedy/flutey for a sax. It plays with significantly less responsiveness up high and through the mid-range than my SX90R, almost clarinet-like. For me that lends itself well to classical playing.
But since it's a close relative of the SX90, it has an easy blowing low end and can be pushed. With an open, high baffle piece and a soft reed it can make some seriously throaty and very jazzy sounds.
Don't be put off by the A=442 Hz tuning; I've not found any problems with it.
Did I mention the copper body is simply georgeous?
