Depends on what he was playing.

Personally, I dont recommend Selmers until you hit their Series III and higher horns. I am saying this as a Selmer dealer.

Dont get me wrong, they are still good horns, we just feel that there are better horns for the same price. For the price range of the Omega (if I remember correctly, around $1700), I would recommend the Yanagisawa A901 professional sax at $1595.00 instead.

Can you give us a little more information about your player (i.e. how long they have been playing, what they were using, etc...)?

my son has played sax for 6 years in marching band pep band and concert band. his first sax was a Vito student model that we bought used, his current sax(which was stolen) was a model 21 yamaha that we bought used and was in excellent shape.
