Does any one know of any good techs in Connecticut.
I have been going to 'Chucks Music Repair' in New Milford, CT.
If anyone else has any experience with Chuck or with other
local techs I would appreciate any comments you have.
Thanks.

No, I live in Southbury, work in Danbury.
I felt kind of bad after posting this originally.
I don't want people to get the opinion that
Chuck is not a good tech. Actually I think
he is very good. I was just frustrated at finding
one of the problems I brought the horn in
for not fixed. But I brought it back and he
fixed it on the spot for me.
I was hoping that someone else who used him
would respond with opinions/experience but
there don't seem to be too many people from
CT on the forum.

I've dealt with Chucks music in Brookfield. He's a good tech and I've dealt with others within in the Danbury area. I use him exclusively. The thing with doing repairs and troubleshooting is that it may take more than a single look to spot the problem.
He has worked on a Martin Committe bari that I had a couple of years ago. When I picked up my ax he had me play the horn right there to see if it was to my liking; it up needed a minor adjustment which he did it on the spot. Recently (like within the past month) he worked on my Keilwerth tenor and Buscher Aristocrat alto. He has alot of New York clients that also use him, along with others from this board who may not frequent this topic.
Good luck.

try d and m musical instrument services in pleasant valley, ny. i just did a mapquest and they are 41 miles from danbury, 57 from southbury. henry and ed are the two techs there i have known for years. while the bulk of their business is the school instrument thing, their repair work is second to none. their number is 845 635 1120. good luck!

I use Chucks Music for the past several years. He has done work on my Selmer MKV1, Conn transitional,{tenors] as well as both my Altos,a 1926 Conn Chu, and a 1952 king Zephyr. All of his work is guaranteed,no questions asked.I have brought a horn in to have it tweaked. The work is done on the spot.
