I have a 1923 Silver Plated Buescher True Tone Alto that is in need of a complete overhaul. Is there anybody out there who is specialized in overhauling old Bueschers?

Don't anyone that specialized, but SaxDaddy knows a lot about them and is a very fine tech. He posts on this site. I am saving up to have him rebuild by aristrocrat tenor. He has consistently done an excellent job on all of my horns.

I have a tech who is in the suburbs of Chicago that does great work on all of my Buescher's. Send me an e-mail if you want his information.

I should be finishing just such a job this week, so far a very nice example of this vintage. Although for most players, unless this horn has a great personal value, my work tends to cost more than the value of the instrument itself. Horns of this vintage are alot of work, just make sure that the dtech you use has a good reputation, and has done alot of vintage work. The brand of vintage saxophones that he/she works on is not as important, you really just want to make sure that the tech is able to go beyond the repad end of things. Alot of techs only se newer horns on a regular basis, and that means that they will not have as much experience in fabrication, swedging and fitting keys, etc. For example, the one I am finishing up had more than 3 days prep work. Hope it all works out, good luck man.
